surface . mark . colour . form

The landscape has abstract qualities that I find fascinating and my response to that is through form, surface, mark and color.   A lifetime spent on the prairies and northern Saskatchewan has a strong influence on my ceramics and paintings.

Colorful painterly effects are incorporated on my primitive looking sculptures that are rarely left unscathed from a gash or a nudge that pushes them slightly off kilter.  My paintings are loose, activated with layers of chaotic line and texture, fused with hues of skies and terrain.

There’s a beautiful tension in imperfection that I find exhilarating and so I‘ll continue to explore the possibilities of that.

Thanks for checking out my work,
